In the middle of January I finished my first stitching project for 2011! It is Victoria Sampler’s Gingerbread Stitching House. I say “finished” but it isn’t truly finished…I have completed the stitching of all of the pieces but have not assembled any of the pieces yet. Who knows when that will actually happen! Here is a picture of the stitched pieces anyway:
For now my stitching focus is on Chatelaine’s Japanese Garden. I am nearly halfway and would love to finish it this year! In looking back through my stitching pictures I realized I have not finished a Chatelaine design since 2008!! I have 8 in progress and would really like to finish them. I started posting on a new Chatelaine blog so that should encourage me to take more progress pictures and post them this year!

Well, now that I have this blogging from my phone thing figured out I can even blog one handed while nursing a baby who is half asleep on my other arm. I am home today because work is slow again for me. It’s good and bad I guess. I love being home but when I am actually at work the day drags by so slowly!
I have a bunch of pictures from Christmas up on my flickr account but haven’t figured out an easy way to link there. For now I am just saving a couple to my phone and then posting them via my wordpress app. Here are two of my favorites:

So it appears there isn’t an easy way to post flickr pictures, but I can save them from flickr to my phone and post them that way. Since I am still working out the kinks and have SO many pictures I want to share, here is another one! Logan really enjoyed the boxes at Christmas, as you can see.

I haven’t blogged in ages because I never seem to be able to find a convenient time to do it. Logan loves to turn off my computer or bang on my keyboard, and I can’t write a quick entry from work anymore because there is something weird that happened with the interface awhile back. So, I finally downloaded a wordpress app to my iPhone and we’ll see how this goes. If I can figure out how to add pictures from flickr then I will be elated! I have tried saving a picture of Logan’s finished stocking here, so hopefully it will work!!

So…not sure how the last two months have passed so quickly! I’ve been working on a crazy project for the last 6 weeks, so free time is a rarity. Any time I have to myself is spent frantically trying to finish Logan’s Christmas stocking. It’s getting close, but so is Christmas. Hopefully I can find some down time in the next few weeks and post a proper blog entry with pictures!

So, it’s been a really crappy past week. Logan came down with a lovely gastro-intestinal virus last Wednesday…he’s over it now, except that his system is not completely back to a normal schedule. I had two migraines because of stress and the hot, dry weather. Tom came down with a cold on Sunday, and is due to travel for work today. So, of course, I wake up this morning with the cold he’s had. I am NOT happy!!
I am home, though, and Logan is happily playing while Luke and his friend play on the Wii (no school today). Seems like a reasonable time for a quick blog update. We’ve been quite busy with soccer and scouts and life in general. We spent all morning Saturday at the soccer fields between pictures and Luke’s game. Logan likes his new wagon:
The boys got dressed to support the Chargers, but of course they lost their first game:
I’ve been working feverishly on Logan’s Christmas stocking…I am starting to get anxious about finishing it in time. Here’s the progress as of last Sunday:
I’ve also been working on the Victoria Sampler “Hearts of America” series whenever I have a couple minutes but can’t bring the stocking with me (I keep one in my pump bag and work on it in the car, etc). I’ve been working on these since they came out in 2002, and it would be great to finish these already. I have now finished 27 of them. I may post pictures eventually; for now, here is the link to the set on flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jillejones/sets/72157605848765593/
So, that’s how things are here. Hopefully things will turn around, and soon, because I’m afraid to ask “what next” at this point!

I realized as I was looking back through my blog that I never posted my third finish of the year. It was a special Lizzie Kate Christmas kit:
I would look up when I finished it, but Logan’s naps are all too short most days so I’m not going to take the time.
Things are going well here; Logan is into everything and sure can cruise around the house at a rapid pace these days. I need to upload some more recent pictures, but here’s one from a few weeks ago:
Did I mention we took the boys to Legoland the week before school started? I don’t think I mentioned it, or anyway I know I didn’t share my favorite pictures from the day. Logan loves playing in the water:
Evidently he likes swings as well:
So, things are good but busy. Hopefully I can at least manage the occasional brief post here now that I’ve figured out the best way (for me) to post pictures again.

I don’t think I like the flickr changes…well I guess I’ll have to take some time to figure out what will work best. Their “blog this” link is fine if you just want to upload one picture in a post. Not sure how to make things work well if you want more than one.
Anyway, Luke started 4th grade last week; if I can get the HTML link to work then here’s the picture of the boys out front on Luke’s first day:
Well, I previewed it and it looks right. Here’s hoping…
I also finished another stitching project earlier this month; #4 for the year. This is Just Nan’s “Winter Hearts Humbug”. I haven’t finished it into its final shape yet, but will hopefully get to that soon.

I’ve been working on Logan’s stocking every chance I get; I think I’ll manage to finish this in time for Christmas after all. This is my first attempt to post a flickr picture using their “blog this” link…

Um, yeah, I joined facebook (I think my husband is now the only person with internet access NOT on facebook) so my blog has been pretty badly neglected. I have a rare lunch alone at home today, so it seemed like a reasonable time to dust this thing off.
Life is good, but busy. Logan is doing extremely well and Luke still absolutely adores his little brother. Unfortunately Logan is NOT a good sleeper (oh how I didn’t realize how lucky I was with Luke and his sleeping) so if I get 3+ hours of consecutive sleep it’s a good night. Last night was, however, not a good night. I know this will pass, and before I know it he’ll be so big and sleeping through the night, so I’m trying to enjoy this brief time while he is so little. It’s hard when I’m so tired I can barely keep my eyes open, though.
It’s been so long since I’ve posted that I have SO many different things to write about, and it’s overwhelming to know where to start. We took Logan on his first camping trip in July:
He likes to go hiking:
Eating is going really well; we skipping baby cereal and purees and went straight to finger food (otherwise known as “BLW” or “baby-led weaning”) and it’s marvelous. Strawberries are one of his favorite foods:
We went to the zoo in June:
And we had to lower the crib as he can now stand holding onto things:
I’ve also been stitching a little, since Logan will now happily play on the floor occasionally. I’m trying to finish his stocking before Christmas this year:
We’ve been in the new house for almost a year now, so hopefully I’ll get some good “after” pictures taken soon and do a fun “before and after” post. I have really come to love our little house!
