Stitching Weekend

So much for the slip and slide; Luke and his friend managed to rip a hole in the water inlet Friday afternoon, the second time he used it. I haven’t looked into vinyl patches yet to see if it’s possible to repair. It was fun for the two days he got to use it though I guess…

I managed to stitch a LOT this weekend. It was really hot and Tom was watching the bike race so it was easy to sit and stitch while Luke played with legos, had a friend over, etc. We did go to my in-laws’ house Sunday afternoon to cool off in their pool for awhile. How I wish we had a/c.

I’ve been working primarily on Little House Needleworks’ “From Sea to Shining Sea”. I made a small change in the southwest panel; the color “tumbleweed” was called out for the window outlines and the clouds, but the floss that came with my pattern is exactly the same color as the fabric (which was the recommended fabric). I tried it for the first window and ripped it out because it wasn’t visible at all. I had lots of the white left from the mountain panel so I used that instead. This is coming along SO quickly now!

Summer Fun

Well I’ve been stitching away since the last post but haven’t stopped to take any pictures. I’ll try this weekend!

We bought Luke a slip and slide this week and finally got it out yesterday. He sure enjoyed it! He’s planning to have a friend spend the night tonight so I expect a lot of backyard fun this afternoon and tomorrow as it’s hot. I loved this picture:

First 2009 Finish

I finally finished something this year!! It’s a small project, “By the Light of the Moon” by The Primitive Needle. I stitched a lot this weekend (not just on this) and even went swimming yesterday because it was so darn hot. I can’t wait to finally have air conditioning someday…

I’ve also been working on “From Sea to Shining Sea” and found a work in progress that I had forgotten I’d started, so I’ll have more stitching pictures to share soon I hope!

Stitching!

I wil have a post about camping over the 4th of July soon, but for now I have an actual stitching progress picture to share. I know, crazy, since that’s what my blog is primarily about and all. I’ve been working away on Chatelaine’s Hawaiian Garden, and I am really enjoying it. Thankfully I thought to bring it to my doctor’s appointment this morning since I had to wait forever. I took this picture last night so it’s pretty recent and there’s just a little more progress from this morning since then. Enjoy!
